Dr.
Mark McClellan to Deliver Keynote Speech at
NCI's 2008 Fall IDN Summit & Expo
Tampa, FL -- Greg Firestone, CEO of NCI,
today announced that Dr. Mark McClellan will
deliver the keynote speech at the 2008 Fall
IDN Summit & Expo which is focused on supply
chain innovation and policy. The Fall
Summit will be held September 2-4 at the
Arizona Biltmore Resort in Phoenix.

to Deliver Value,
Dr. McClellan's address will include a
review of current trends and their potential
to transform the healthcare landscape,
insights into the issues complicating
improvements, and specific steps the public
and private sectors might employ to provide
better care now and in the future. Dr.
McClellan is a former Administrator
for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid
Services and a former Commissioner for the
Food and Drug Administration.
Currently serving
as the
Director of the Engelberg Center for Health
Care Reform, Dr. McClellan is the Senior
Fellow in Economic Studies and holds the
position of Leonard D. Schaeffer Director's
Chair in Health Policy Studies at the
Brookings Institution in Washington, DC. He
works on promoting high-quality, innovative
and affordable health care and is interested
in the effectiveness of medical treatments
in improving health; the economic and policy
factors influencing medical treatment
decisions and health outcomes; the impact of
new technologies on public health and
medical expenditures; and the relationship
between health status and economic
well-being.
